Policies and Guidelines Daily Routine Food Hours Rates On Call Veterinarians

All pets are individuals and require personalized attention. This is especially true when they are away from home. We cannot take the place of your home, but we try to make up for some of the difference with affectionate care and attention. Our goal is to make your pet as comfortable as possible during its stay with us.

At the time of your first boarding visit, we will ask you to sign a boarding contract. This contract will inform you of our boarding policies and guidelines. At each subsequent boarding visit, we will ask for you to update any medications, special options and contact information. You will not have to renew this contract each time you come in. If you have any questions or need to review the guidelines, please let us know and we will pull the contract on file.

Policies and Guidelines

Dogs are required to have rabies, distemper/parvo and bordetella (canine cough) vaccines. In order for the bordetella vaccine to be effective, our vet recommends that the vaccine be given at least 4 days prior to your stay. Cats are required to have rabies and feline distemper vaccines. Proof of vaccination or veterinarian’s name and phone number for confirmation is required at time of drop off. There is a risk of outdoor fleas and ticks. Your pet is required to be treated with a flea and tick preventative. Any untreated pet or any pet found with fleas will be treated and the cost will be added to your total charges.

If a problem arises with your pet while boarding and he or she needs immediate attention we will engage the services of a veterinarian. We will call the emergency number provided to give you an update or to get permission for further treatment. If you are unreachable, a decision will be made on appropriate treatment for your pet. All costs involved with these procedures will be added to your current boarding charges and must be paid for at the time of pick up.

We provide food, treats, play toys, food and water dishes and blankets, You are welcome to bring your own clean bedding, treats, food or anything else you want your pet to have. Please keep in mind that there will be times when your pet is unsupervised. Your pet’s safety is very important to us. For your pet’s own safety, please only bring items that will not cause harm to your pet while unsupervised.

Daily Routine

We find that our dogs adjust quickly and comfortably to our daily routine. Dogs are outside up to four times a day to run around, sniff and play in our large 12 x 50 foot shaded exercise areas. The first outside break is early morning, at which time breakfast is fed. The next break, dogs are out for a long afternoon of individual play time/attention time or play groups. The dogs just love to run around our play areas. After everyone is settled back in, treats are handed out. Dinner time is late afternoon or early evening. Everyone goes outside for the last time several hours after dinner for a potty break before bedtime. We give treats throughout the day, and a special peanut butter biscuit at bedtime. For an additional charge, we provide a daily walk on groomed paths on our farm.

Food

We feed and sell Healthwise Chicken Meal & Oatmeal premium brand dog and cat food (www.naturapet.com). You are welcome to bring your own food if your pet is sensitive to change or is on a special diet. We do not charge extra for this.
